HR generalist requirements, with the quote you would need
Generalist postings span recruiting, onboarding, policy questions, and sometimes payroll support. Quote the slice you owned. A coordinator who scheduled interviews is not a full-cycle recruiter unless that is what happened.
Examples on this page are fictional composites, not customers and not testimonials.
Often required
The employee population
Size only if written. Hourly, salaried, or a site.
Hiring work, accurately scoped
Sourcing, screening, or scheduling. Pick the true verb.
Employee relations or questions you handled
Policy explanations, a leave process, or investigations only if you did them.
A system
An HRIS by name, or paper files, as it was.
A partner
A manager, payroll, or counsel, if named in your text.
Often preferred, and easy to fake
- Onboarding you designed
- A handbook or a policy edit
- Benefits support you can describe
What a citation looks like
Full-cycle recruiting
“Scheduled onsites and sent offer letters drafted by the hiring manager.”
That supports coordination. It does not support sourcing or closing. Do not widen it.
Workday
“No sentence.”
A spreadsheet tracker is not Workday.
The gap people paper over
Investigations, terminations, and compensation bands are sensitive and specific. Never imply them from “supported managers.”
Questions
Can I mention confidential cases?
Do not add detail that identifies a person. If the resume is silent, the tailored version stays silent.
Is a SHRM credential assumed?
No. Quote it only if it is listed, including whether it is in progress.
